We invite you to take a couple of hours out of your day to connect with others in the industry to discuss high level topics of real importance, develop new relationships and gain critical information. The Topic

Within 24 months the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) has doubled its membership, increased sponsorship from $20,000 to over $500,000 and changed the way the organisation communicates with their members resulting in improved membership engagement.

Join CEO, Shahana McKenzie for an insightful discussion about bringing an organisation back from the brink and reinventing for a sustainable future. In her address, Shahana will discuss the strategy behind these changes, how AILA doubled membership and techniques for sponsorship growth. Shahana will also share challenges faced along the way and what the future holds for the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects.

The Speaker

Shahana McKenzie, Chief Executive Officer at Australian Institute of Landscape Architects

Since commencing the role as CEO of AILA in February 2014, Shahana has been instrumental in rapidly growing the membership, increasing industry awareness and leading the organisation into a stronger fiscal position.

Over the past eight years Shahana has held a number of roles at the Australian Institute of Architects, most recently as General Manager of Marketing & Development. During this time Shahana introduced the A+ practice membership, established the Australian Achievement in Architecture Awards and increased Australia’s presence at the Venice Architecture Biennale from 2006 to 2012.

Shahana is delighted to be the mother of three girls, who are a constant inspiration.
