The Networking

We invite you to take a couple of hours out of your day to connect with others in the industry to discuss high level topics of real importance, develop new relationships and gain critical information. This is a rare opportunity to network with other CEOs and senior management professionals from charities, associations and other non-profit organisations. Ample opportunity will be given for you to discuss issues and network with others.

The Topic

Innovation and risk taking are no doubt a risky business for not-for-profits seeking to challenge traditional operating practices and funding sources, in order to stay relevant in a quickly changing environment. At this time, more risky than taking a risk, is to take no risk at all. In order to thrive in the current not-for-profit environment, directors and committee members must be willing to embrace innovative measures, secure in the knowledge that taking considered risks will not breach their legal obligations. This presentation will provide a refresher for not-for-profit directors and committee members regarding their legal duties, and the protections available to them under the law, as well as assisting. The presentation will also assist not-for-profits and charities to understand how they can take advantage of the key innovative approaches currently prevalent in the sector, including collaborations, mergers and commercialisation, so that for them, 2016 can be a year of innovation.
