The Networking

We invite you to take a couple of hours out of your day to connect with others in the industry to discuss high level topics of real importance, develop new relationships and gain critical information. This is a rare opportunity to network with other CEOs and senior management professionals from charities, associations and other non-profit organisations. Ample opportunity will be given for you to discuss issues and network with others.

The Topic

Caravan Industry Association WA CEO Simon Glossop will share his knowledge and experience of a number of membership based organisations, including not for profit, indigenous and corporate that he has been involved with. Discussing the challenge of cultural change within not only the organisation but also the Board.

Using examples from four membership based organisations, ranging in turnover from $12 million to $500k, Simon will share the processes and activations used to engage existing members, reach out to old and potential new ones while adding to services and benefits to members with the aim of long term retention, and providing some answers to that age old question “why should I be a member".

The Speaker
Simon Glossop, Chief Executive Officer, Caravan Industry Association WA

Simon Glossop is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Caravan Industry Association Western Australia (CIAWA). A not for profit organisation representing all those engaged in the caravan and camping sector. With a membership base of 240 business and over 60,000 consumers and runs the highly successful RAC Perth Caravan & Camping Show. Simon was previously National Operations Manager with one of Australia’s largest caravan park operators, Aspen Parks and Resorts. Not content with working in the not for profit and corporate sector, Simon has also worked in the public sector with three stints at Tourism WA as Regional Manager for the Coral Coast.

Previous experience Simon has gained with other Membership based organisations, including in Canada as General Manager at Greenbelt Tennis Club, Chief Executive Officer with the York & District Co-operative and in the Kimberley as General Manager of Leedal Pty Ltd. However according to Simon the best job, ever, was as a European based Contiki Tour Manager.

In all of Simon’s senior management roles the improvement of client service, benefits to members and community standing of the organisation has been first and foremost the desired outcome to achieve. Believing that all goals and objectives for the business will come to fruition by focussing on those key deliverables which will generate a return to the business.
