The Presenters 




Michelle Blicavs, Chief Executive Officer, IAP2 Australasia 

Michelle has 20 years management experience, 15 years in the transport industry and 5 years in the community services sector. Passionate about seeing strong governance culture in organisations, Michelle also spent 5 years as a management consultant working with small businesses in the Illawarra before taking on her current role as CEO for The International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) Australasia. IAP2 promotes community engagement around the world and the Australasian Association has the largest global membership. 

Savio D'Sa, Marketing and Stakeholder Relations Manager, Australian Association of Gerontology 

Savio is a Senior Projects Officer with the Australian Association of Gerontology and manages a range of functions from marketing and events through to education and membership recruitment and management. After graduating from Deakin in 2010 with an MBA (Int)/Master of Commerce, Savio worked in Sydney and Perth in the legal sector managing Continuing Legal Education Programs. Whilst at University, Savio was actively involved as secretary of the Deakin Business School Society (now known as the Deakin Graduate Business Society) and was elected to manage marketing and PR. Actively involved in the postgraduate mentor program, Savio was also the postgraduate students representative to the University Academic Board in 2009. Savio has been an active member of the Chapter since May 2012 and has been involved in organising networking events, professional development events and the Christmas in July Charity Ball.

Michael Bunker, Product Manager - Event Services, Redback Conferencing  

Michael has over 7 years’ experience in the Technology sector. Starting his career in Sales, he has worked in Account Management, Project Management, Managing Client Services team and now Product Manager for all of Redback Conferencing Managed Events Services. Michael experience spans across the Technology sector through digital and communications. He has managed and executed digital media strategies to prominent Australian business focusing on webinars, webcasting, hybrid events, online video hosting and custom video portals. With a deep understanding of client’s user behaviours, he made the switch from sales to product development and implementation of best practises. Coming on board with Redback in 2012, Michael’s aim is to exceed customer expectations with digital events, inspiring and educated on what can be done with technology.


Theresa Hoogland, Executive Manager - Marketing & Strategy, Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees 

Theresa has been with AIST for over three years managing their marketing and partnerships portfolio along with the growing national Young Super Network. Before joining AIST, Theresa developed a strong career over nine years in the not for profit community sector with roles at Girl Guides, The Smith Family, and a range of senior roles with Guide Dogs Victoria, the last of which being Marketing and Fundraising Manager overseeing the organisations broad range of fundraising activities while driving the public brand and donor engagement strategies.

Daniela Vrljic, Events Manager, Leading Age Services Australia - Victoria 

Daniela joined the team at LASA Victoria in 2011 after completing her studies in Event Management. Before moving to LASA Victoria she was involved in hospitality based events for over four years working as a Functions Coordinator, this has encouraged her hands on approach when dealing with all of her events. Her main role at LASA Victoria has been to coordinate all logistical and operational requirements including venue liaison, program development, budgeting and all other ad hoc tasks required to ensure that the event is executed professionally. She was a National Finalist in the MEA & Ungerboeck Systems International Young Professional Scholarship 2011. Highly regarded for her people skills and problem solving skills, Daniela strives for a successful event every time.
