Speakers for 2015 include:


    Keynote Speaker: Malcolm Alexander, Chief Executive, Local Government New Zealand
Malcolm leads LGNZ's management, relationships with its members and external stakeholders, and strategy and policy development. Malcolm is a qualified lawyer and 
has practiced law in New Zealand and London.  Before LGNZ, he was at Genesis Energy where he held the position of General Manager, Corporate Affairs. 
Before that he was General Manager Market Services at M-co Limited responsible for management of the wholesale and retail electricity markets.






  Keynote Speaker: Kerry Prendergast, Former Mayor of Wellington
Kerry Prendergast is the former Mayor of Wellington and former Vice-President of Local Government New Zealand and holds an MBA from Victoria University. Kerry is currently Chair of the Environmental Protection Authority, Tourism New Zealand, the New Zealand Festival, the Wellington Jazz Music Festival Trust and also the Endangered Species Foundation. She is a Director of Kirkcaldie and Stains, WorkSafe New Zealand and Compass Health PHO, and a Trustee of the New Zealand Community Trust, and the Wellington Free Ambulance Board.  Kerry is also a Board member of the Motu Foundation, Phoenix Football Club and on the Advisory Board of the Office of the Auditor General. Kerry was awarded a CNZM in 2011 for her services to local government, and is a distinguished Alumni of Victoria University.

    Keynote Speaker: Glen Sowry, Chief Executive Officer, Housing New Zealand
Housing New Zealand’s Chief Executive Officer Glen Sowry brings extensive and broad experience in corporate leadership to his role. With almost 67,000 properties housing over 190,000 people, valued at more than $20 billion, Housing New Zealand is a substantial asset delivery, property management and customer service business. During his years at Housing New Zealand, Glen has steered the corporation through significant change. The New Zealand government’s social housing reform programme has required Housing New Zealand to adjust to a new competitive landscape. Glen’s leadership and focus on ‘getting the basics right’ has seen operational performance at Housing New Zealand improve year on year. 

    Helen Morgan-Banda, Chief Executive Officer, Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners
Helen is an experienced Chief Executive with a track record of delivering results, and building and developing high-performing teams and organisations. She has a strong focus on strategy and execution underpinned by good financial and business management skills. Her previous roles include being Head of Corporate Affairs for ANZ, Director of Marketing and Communications at Victoria University and Strategic Communications Manager in the Office of the New Zealand Prime Minister. 

    Graham Billings, Executive Director,  Franchise Association of New Zealand
Graham was appointed Executive Director of the Franchise Association of New Zealand in 2008, the peak body for the franchising sector. In this role he is fully involved in maintaining and raising self-regulatory standards for franchising in New Zealand and the development of FANZ services to members. As FANZ Executive Director, for the last six years he has also acted as General Secretary of the World Franchise Council, the representative body for 45 franchise associations around the world. 

    Tim McLeod, Regional Manager, Auckland Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand
As Auckland Regional Manager for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), Tim is responsible for leading the transformation of service delivery to more than 12,500 members across Auckland, Northland and the Pacific Islands. This year, Tim and his team championed the launch of the CA ANZ future[inc] paper: ‘Fast Forward – Leading in a Brave New World of Diversity’, hosting a panel discussion in Auckland that was broadcast live around New Zealand. With over 17 years’ experience in the accounting industry, Tim previously worked at EY and Inland Revenue. His business know how includes strategic and business development, helping forge his passion for creating platforms for diversity.

    Julie Hood, Chief Executive Officer, New Zealand Veterinary Association
Julie Hood is the chief executive officer of the New Zealand Veterinary Association (NZVA), a position she was appointed to in 2007. As CEO she is charged with leading the development and implementation of the 2020-2030 vision and strategy for the profession in New Zealand. Prior to joining the NZVA, Julie worked in human health, holding a number of senior posts in public, private and not for profit hospital  in Wellington. Julie holds a Master of Business Administration from Victoria Business School in Wellington, New Zealand. She is currently a trustee of the Elizabeth Veterinary Benevolent Fund and is a former board member of the Wellington Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Julie is also a member of the Australasian Society of Association Executives and the Institute of Directors in New Zealand. Julie is originally from Christchurch and in her spare time describes herself as an ageing fitness junky, walking up hills with friends while it is still dark in the mornings, being tormented into shape by personal trainers at her local gym, who are half her age and half her size, and most recently discovering that hot yoga is actually a total body and mind workout and is done in the dark for good reason.
