The Networking

We invite you to take a couple of hours out of your day to connect with others in the industry to discuss high level topics of real importance, develop new relationships and gain critical information. This is a rare opportunity to network with other CEOs and senior management professionals from charities, associations and other non-profit organisations. Ample opportunity will be given for you to discuss issues and network with others.

The Topic

Engineers Australia have a long and proud history. Representing over 100,000 members, it is one of the largest professional bodies in the country. Over the last three years there has been a clear strategy to refresh and redirect the organisation to ensure that it not only remains relevant in the existing environment, but enhances the standing of the profession and continues to grow.

With around 5,000 volunteer office bearers across the country and a history of operating as a federation, the challenges of implementing change whilst maintaining volunteer and member engagement have been enormous. Attend the luncheon to hear the progress to date on this significant but rewarding challenge, what has worked well and what lessons have been learned.

The Speaker
Ian McEwan, General Manager Queensland at Engineers Australia
Ian McEwan has been with Engineers Australia across a multitude of roles for more than a decade. After serving Queensland Division as Deputy Director for a number of years, Ian accepted the role of Executive Director of the South Australia Division in early 2007. When the opportunity to lead the Queensland Division arose in early 2009, he returned as Executive Director and has implemented a series of changes to enhance the services and support offered to members and office bearers.
