Management, Working with Volunteers and Product & Service
Development.
The Certified Association Executive (CAE) Program is a series of five
graduate level courses based on 44 key competencies of association
management. All courses are delivered online and facilitated by senior
Certified Association Executives. The courses are structured to reflect
activities and processes that typically occur in nonprofit
organisations. Upon successful completion of the five courses students
have the option to sit the CAE examination to earn the CAE
designation.
The CAE Designation can also be earned through a process of Prior
Learning Assessment Review (PLAR) which takes into account previous
education, nonprofit sector experience and association participation and
contribution through the submission of a comprehensive portfolio. AuSAE
members can apply to submit their portfolio for assessment. Should the
applicant demonstrate that they are competent in the 44 key competencies
to the satisfaction of the review panel of senior Certified Association
Executives and completion of the CAE examination, they may be granted a
PLAR for their CAE designation.
